It was faster and easier than I thought it would be! Let me show you how you can create your own retro gaming machine so that you can relive those glory days! Grabbing a Raspberry Pi sitting around that I hadn't done anything with, I got out of my comfort zone and attempted to create a retro gaming machine with RetroPie. To enjoy these games today I must dust off my original Nintendo 64 (20 years old now!), fight asthma to blow into each cartridge a dozen times, and flip the power button with the hope that the game will start. ![]() They didn't have the graphics but the gameplay was outstanding. Games like Mario 64, GoldenEye, Mario Kart 64, and Ocarina of Time were incredible. While I enjoy playing new games these days, I do long for the retro gaming systems I had when I was a kid: the original Nintendo (NES), Nintendo 64, Sega, and so on. ![]() The script to use is raspberry-pi.sh (32-bit) or raspberry-pi-64-bit.sh (64-bit).Today we get to play amazing games on our super powered game consoles, PCs, VR headsets, and even mobile devices. It will prompt you for the wireless network’s password. You can create this file on another Linux system by running wpa_passphrase YOURNETWORK > wpa_nf. You can add a wpa_nf file to the first partition of the microSD card to connect to a wireless network. Once the dd operation is complete, boot up the Raspberry Pi 4 with the microSD plugged in. This process can take a while, depending on your PC, your microSD’s speed, and the size of the Kali Linux image. Or $ xzcat | sudo dd of=/dev/sdb bs=4M status=progress $ xzcat | sudo dd of=/dev/sdb bs=4M status=progress If you choose the wrong storage device, you may wipe out your computers hard disk. This process will wipe out your microSD card. Do not simply copy these value, change this to the correct drive path. In our example, we assume the storage device is located at /dev/sdb.
